Best Way to Know the Measurement of Your Rug
When you are going to buy a rug for your bedroom / living room / hall / study room or any other place of your home, choose at least 1’ / 2’ shorter rug than the length / width of the smallest wall in the room and try to leave an equal amount of floor each sides.
There are plenty of options to put the rug in your room. Use measurement tape to know the exact size of the rug you want to put in your room. This way you can visualize the look of rug in your room.
Choosing Rug for your Bedroom
Measure your bed, plus add at least 2’, 3’ or more to cover the floor each side the bed (excluding head side) and then decide what size of rug you need for your bedroom.

The rug should extend at least 18" beyond the edge of the table so the chairs will still fit even when guests push back from the table (measure your table with all leaves in place). At least 18" of floor should frame the rug on all four sides. If possible, keep the rug small enough that buffets and china cabinets are not on the rug.
